The Three Broomsticks hadn't changed a bit since the last time Liz had visited with her friends. That was back when she was in school, a witch in training so to speak. But it had been their tradition to have a drink here before Winter Vacation, the same day every year. She hadn't seen her friends since she graduated; she wrote back and forth with Kate, but that was different from being able to sit down and just talk. And so she was feeling nostalgic on this cold winter's evening and thought she'd drop by. Maybe someone else was feeling nostalgic too.
Tera peers around the statue, one brow lofted slightly. The hall is empty...and the school unnaturally quiet. She steps out from behind the statue and heads back towards the great hall pretending the earie silence isnt getting to her. Stopped dead in her tracks she is then, as she see's the deserted half finished and yet to be cleared meals still steaming on the house tables. The great hall is empty...
Tera stops, half way to her dorm, at the sound of familiar voices and foot steps echoing up the corridor towards her. Perfect, the gets going to come rub it in!
She seems to think her squealing about the stupid little flaming hat trick was tease worthy. So in a state of 'lets not face Gray and Kate' She ducks behind a statue of Sir Alfred the flatulent.
Liz wanders in, because no one else will. "Where the fuck did they all go?"
Nanerean noticed Kate looking at his hat with an overly- pleased look about her. Obviously she was trying to be obnoxious, but it took a lot more effort for her to annoy him now, after years of this. He then noticed that there was still a small fire burning merrily away on his head. With a slight smile, then a huff, he clapped his hand over the fire and extinguished it.
"It's had worse days, you kinow that."
Kate noticed Nanerean leaving and decided to go bug him. She caught up to him not far from the Great Hall and greeted him in a manner best described as disgustingly perky.
"Hey Grey," she chirped, "your hat's a bit singed. Did you know?"
Nanerean had not expected such a fuss over his little trickery, but he wasn't worried about it, as any teachers present were relieved that it wasn't a naked Lumuel pole dancing on the Gryffindor table. Flames dancing on the table weren't a great improvement, but they were certainly an improvement.
"Accio Hat." Nanerean said, his hand outstretched to his merrily burning attire. It sped back to his hand seemingly unharmed by the blistering explosion of flames. He put the hat on and with a sandwich in one hand and his bag in the other, he left the Great Hall and started up to the Gryffindor common room.
Kate smiled as she watched the show on the other side of the room. It wasn't the first time someone had set the Gryffindor's table on fire (although it was the first time that it was an accident). She noticed Professor McGonagall surveying the Slytherin table, undoubtedly to see who was missing and therefore at fault. Kate finished her lunch leisurely as Grey's hat burned merrily across the room.
Suppirsed and panicked as any one might be if someones worn floppy hat burst into blue and orange fire works in their hands Tera flings the flamming bit of head wear back into the throng of the Griffs. A little first year girl with white blond hair and eyes too big for her face shrieks and jumps back from her lunch as it just got alot more exciting....and chared.
She then sends one more scalding glance Nan's direction and snatching a bagel dog from her own house table is on her way out.
